While we try to be environmentally conscious with everything we do, we needed to come up with a new package which kept true to this theme. We started by offering locally produced alcohol, and offering fair trade, organic mixers. However, with growing concerns for our environment, we decided just shopping local wasn't enough. At the start of 2020 Joshua sought out new suppliers who offer ethically produced drinks along with giving back to the environment and the communities the work with.

 

We stuck with Bedlam Brewery in Plumpton for our beer. With the Green Bow Tie Bar package we provide their Pale Ale, however they also brew a Pilsner, Porter, Best Bitter and many more if you prefer something different. All the energy required for brewing their beer comes from solar panels, they plant and harvest their own hops, and they even supply local farmers with all their spent grain and hops for FREE, which they use to feed their cattle.

 

For our wine, there was no question as to who the right supplier for us was, Sea Change Wines. Sea Change support a number of different charities from The Oliver Ridley Project, who help to rescue injured sea turtles, to Rendu Ocean who clean up coast lines, and many more. On top of supporting some great charities, Sea Change also reduce their own impact on the environment by using Carbon neutral closures made from renewable plant based materials and, no capsule covers to reduce unnecessary packaging. 

 

Our Cider is produced on the edge of the Ashdown Forest by Hurstwood Cider. Their cider is 'a careful blend of Kent and Sussex's best dessert apples and traditional bittersweet varieties'. Their cider won the Bronze Award in the British Cider Championships at the Royal Bath and West Show.

Ethically made spirits are probably not something people really consider but we decided to look into it anyway and found Gorilla Spirits! They make gin, rum and vodka which we have included in our green package. £1 of every bottle they sell goes towards the Gorilla Organisation, it's field staff in Africa oversee a number of conservation products.

And it doesn't stop at alcohol, we provide mixers and soft drinks from the Karma Cola range. They make sure the people who grow their cola get something back from the people who drink it. Their drinks are fair trade, organic and they do so much for the communities they work with, more than we can fit onto this page!

The Green Bow Tie is available as both a pre-paid package and a cash bar. For every green package sold, we donate to Gone West so that they can plant 20 more trees! The products are all premium quality but we have ensured we have given them a mid range price tag so there's no reason not to book!
